President Bola Tinubu is set to leave Abuja today for Europe to begin a 10-day “working vacation.”

In a statement on Thursday, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, explained that the trip is part of the president’s annual leave.

According to Onanuga, Tinubu will divide his leave between France and the UK before returning to Nigeria.

This latest trip follows a recent 12-day diplomatic mission to Japan and Brazil, with stopovers in Dubai and Los Angeles.

Tinubu had left Nigeria on August 15, passed through Dubai, UAE, and arrived in Yokohama, Japan, on August 18, where he attended the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9).

During his visit to Brazil, the president held talks with President Luiz da Silva and other senior officials.

Both leaders finalized memoranda of understanding in the areas of aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture.

Tinubu returned to Nigeria on August 28.

Earlier in April, the president had also spent 19 days in France and the UK on private visits.
