President Bola Tinubu departed Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, on Friday for a two-nation trip to Japan and Brazil.
The president travelled with a delegation of government officials, including ministers and special advisers.
According to presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will make a brief stop in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, before proceeding to Japan.
In Japan, Tinubu will attend the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) in Yokohama from 20 to 22 August. Alongside participating in plenary sessions on conference themes, he will hold bilateral meetings and engage with chief executives of Japanese companies that have investments in Nigeria.
At the conclusion of TICAD9, Tinubu will travel to Brasília, the capital of Brazil, for a two-day state visit from Sunday 24 to Monday 25 August, at the invitation of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
During his time in Brazil, Tinubu will meet his host for bilateral talks and participate in a business forum with Brazilian investors.
