NewsClick Nigeria observes that Osinbajo has not participated in the ruling party’s campaigns since his defeat to Tinubu in the APC presidential primary.
However, the presidency stated that it was President Muhammadu Buhari who directed that Osinbajo and Secretary to the Government Mustapha be excused from campaign activities so that they could focus on governance.
There were reports that Tinubu and the Vice President had a falling out over Osinbajo’s decision to run against him in the presidential primary, but both camps denied the reports on multiple occasions.
