Tinubu lands in Riyadh for Saudi-Africa summit

President Bola Tinubu has landed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the Saudi-Africa Summit scheduled for Friday.

Upon arriving in the Middle-East nation, the Nigerian leader received a warm welcome from ministers, members of the National Assembly, and other government officials at the airport.

During the summit, Tinubu aims to emphasize Nigeria’s dedication to attracting increased foreign direct investment and broadening business partnerships.

As stated by the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, the visit will greatly bolster the administration’s ongoing domestic economic reforms.

Discussions at the inaugural Saudi-Africa Summit will focus on promoting collaborative efforts, strengthening political coordination, and addressing regional security challenges.

The summit aims to facilitate economic transformation through research and the local development of new energy solutions, fostering cross-sectoral investment cooperation, as highlighted by Ngelale.

Accompanying the President on the trip are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman; and the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun.

Also part of the delegation are the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu; the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar; and the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Malam Jalal Arabi.

The President is anticipated to return to Abuja following the conclusion of the Saudi-Africa Summit.
