President Bola Tinubu is presently in a meeting with former Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.), at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
General Abubakar, who recently celebrated his 81st birthday, is visiting Tinubu. This meeting comes just 48 hours after former President Goodluck Jonathan visited the Villa to update the President on the situation in Mali.
While the specific agenda of the meeting between President Bola Tinubu and former Military Head of State General Abdulsalami Abubakar (retd.) has not been disclosed, it could be a courtesy visit.
General Abubakar previously chaired the National Peace Committee, which facilitated the signing of a peace accord by major candidates in the February 25 Presidential election. The purpose of the accord was to reduce tension during and after the polls.
