Tinubu, Osinbajo, Fayemi, Amosun ‘step down’ for Owo
Former Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State, Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; Senator Ibikunle Amosun and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday suspended planned political activities in Abuja ahead of the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress to visit Owo local government, Ondo State, where a church massacre occurred.
It was learned that while Amosun, Fayemi, and Tinubu were already in Owo, Osinbajo had arrived in Ondo State but had not yet arrived in Owo at the time this report was filed.
The attack on the church in Owo, the hometown of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, occurred less than a week after the abduction of the Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Bishop Samuel Kanu-Uche, by gunmen identified by the priest as Fulani youths in Abia State.
It was discovered that the gunmen who attacked the Catholic Church arrived at the location, which is less than 200 metres from the palace of the Olowo of Owo, at 12 p.m., just as the Sunday mass was concluding.
It was learnt that Amosun and Tinubu were at the palace of the Olowo of Owo, Ajibade Ogunoye III, for a condolence visit as of the time this report was filed.
