President Bola Tinubu will join leading Yoruba monarchs, political figures, captains of industry, and thousands of Ibadan indigenes to witness the coronation of Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

At a press conference on Saturday, Chief Bayo Oyero, Chairman of the Planning and Organising Committee, unveiled details of the week-long celebration, which he said would showcase Ibadan’s inclusive and vibrant cultural heritage.

The historic coronation is scheduled for Friday, 26 September 2025, at Mapo Hall, when the former Oyo State governor will ascend the ancient throne of his forefathers.

“The coronation marks a cultural and traditional milestone that will draw dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond,” Chief Oyero said.

He added that the series of events, beginning on Monday, 22 September, would feature inter-denominational prayers, a cultural fiesta, a coronation lecture, a praise concert, and thanksgiving services. “This is not just a traditional rite but a reaffirmation of our unique chieftaincy system,” he stressed.
