Tinubu to reshuffle cabinet – Presidency

President Bola Tinubu has indicated his intention to reshuffle his cabinet.

This confirmation was provided by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, during a briefing with State House correspondents on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Onanuga emphasized that, contrary to some speculations, the current administration has made notable progress in its efforts to transform the economy, much of which the public is not aware of.

He also mentioned that Tinubu has instructed his ministers to actively engage with the public by promoting the government’s initiatives within their respective ministries.

He said, “I don’t have any timeline. The President has expressed his desire to reshuffle his cabinet and will do it. I don’t know whether he wants to do it before October 1, but he will surely do it.”

Expanding on the rationale behind Tinubu’s decision, O’tega Ogra, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital Strategy Engagement and Communications, stated that it is grounded in empirical evidence.

Ogra highlighted that during a retreat held for the ministers shortly after their inauguration in August 2023, Tinubu explicitly communicated that there would be regular evaluations of their performance. He added that these reviews would inform the President’s decision-making process.
