Tinubu writes senate, seeks confirmation of Bianca Ojukwu, six other new ministerial nominees

The Senate has received a formal request from President Bola Tinubu for the confirmation of seven ministerial nominees announced on Wednesday.

The request, which called for swift consideration, was conveyed in a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The letter was read at the start of Thursday’s plenary session.

President Tinubu urged the Senate to review and confirm the appointments of the seven nominees for ministerial roles.

The nominees include Nentawe Yilwatda (Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction), Muhammadu Dingyadi (Labour & Employment), Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu (State, Foreign Affairs), and Jumoke Oduwole (Industry, Trade, and Investment).

Others nominated are Idi Mukhtar Maiha (Livestock Development), Yusuf Ata (State, Housing and Urban Development), and Suwaiba Ahmad (State, Education).

Senate President Akpabio has referred the nominees to the Committee of the Whole for further legislative review.
