The Nigerian public has been advised to disregard any speculations or rumors concerning President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial list.
According to Tinubu’s spokesperson, Dele Alake, the list of ministers chosen by the president is not yet finalized. Alake made this statement during a press briefing held at the State House in Abuja.
“There is no iota of truth in all of those things,” Alake said. “When the President is good and ready, you will be the first to know about his intentions.”
Tinubu, having been sworn in as president on May 29, 2023, is expected to submit his ministerial list to the Senate before 29 July.
Thursday proved to be a highly eventful day for President Bola Tinubu, as he signed four Executive Orders aimed at deferring and suspending specific taxes paid by companies in Nigeria.
Tinubu’s spokesperson, Dele Alake, informed the media that these actions align with the president’s commitment, stated during his inauguration on May 29, to tackle fiscal policies that hinder business growth and address the issue of multiple taxes.
Emphasizing the president’s focus on prioritizing the welfare of Nigerians, Alake highlighted that these Executive Orders were signed in line with Tinubu’s promise to place citizens at the forefront of government policies.
“The Finance Act (Effective Date Variation) Order, 2023, has now deferred the commencement date of the changes contained in the Act from May 23, 2023 to September 1, 2023.
“This is to ensure adherence to the 90 days minimum advance notice for tax changes as contained in the 2017 National Tax Policy.
