A presentation of African fashion in all its splendor was presented during the African Fashion Week, which took place from September 7 to 9, 2022.

The event, which took place at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, was organized in conjunction with the Lagos Fashion Fair in order to promote the rich fashion culture of Nigeria.

More than 60 African designers were represented during the week. On the first day, attendees arrived on the red carpet and rotated around the booths and cubicles at the venue where textiles, jewelry, and other fashion products were on show. Following the red carpet event, models strutted down the runway wearing creations by Modesty Signature, Adire Odua Ready To Wear, and Glue by Nasir Elias.

Models appeared on the second day dressed in traditional garb as well as children’s clothing designed by Laura and Mo. Female attire was also available from Liquid Fashion and Design. Denrele Edun, a well-known show host, was also present to enthrall the crowd while discussing his experiences in the fashion sector.

The event’s masterclass sessions with fashion designer and stylist Toyin Lawani, nicknamed Tiannah, and a speech by well-known actress Mercy Aigbe on the value of attending film school to develop one’s skills rather than simply entering the film industry unprepared were other highlights.

Samuel Perry, nicknamed Broda Shaggi, a well-known skit maker, also gave young people the advice that they don’t need to own cameras in order to be content creators. He suggests that people begin by using their phones.

Funke Bucknor and Hazel Onou, popularly known as Whitemoney, are among the attendees.
