Trailer accident kills two students, injures three others in Borno

Two students from Borno State University lost their lives on Wednesday in a collision involving a school bus and a trailer.

Three other students sustained critical injuries, while fifteen are receiving medical care.

The school bus, which was transporting thirty students, was struck by a trailer, resulting in the immediate deaths of two students. Three others were critically injured, while ten students escaped unharmed.

In a statement, the university’s spokesperson, Umar Garkuwa, confirmed that the injured students were rushed to Umaru Shehu Hospital and the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) for treatment.

Garkuwa added that the university’s vice-chancellor and the dean of student affairs are actively monitoring the situation at the hospitals to ensure a swift response.
