The former heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, has triggered widespread reactions online after posting a photo of himself gently caressing a goat.
In the post shared on his Instagram page, the British-Nigerian boxer was seen holding the goat alongside the caption: “Village boy.”
The image quickly went viral, attracting numerous comments, especially from female fans who jokingly expressed wishes that they were in the goat’s place rather than the animal.
“How many of us want to be that goat?” one user commented.
“I suddenly want to be a goat,” another lady wrote.
“I just want him to hold me like he’s holding that kid,” another comment read.
“When I die, I want to come back as a goat,” a user also joked.
The 36-year-old boxer is currently unmarried but has one child. In 2021, Joshua revealed that he hopes to have at least seven children in the future.
In 2023, he also disclosed that he still lives with his mother, explaining that it would be difficult to “leave my mum by herself,” even when he eventually decides to get married.
Joshua is expected to return to the ring in July 2026, where he will face Albania’s Kristian Prenga in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The bout will mark his first fight since surviving a car accident in December 2025 that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
