President Bola Tinubu has appointed Maj Gen Olufemi Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff.
“Oluyede will act in the position pending the return of the indisposed substantive Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja,” Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr Bayo Onanuga, revealed in a statement Wednesday evening.
Until his appointment, Oluyede served as the 56th Commander of the elite Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, based in Jaji, Kaduna.
This appointment has sparked mixed reactions on social media, and here are a few:

His Appointment was inspired by the denial of the Army, then.
Some denial can be a blessing in disguise. The agenda of Lagbaja must be sustainer. Crush the Enemies of State & not business as usual

To me I think the only reason why Tinubu is giving out key and vital positions in Nigeria especially the position of the Chief of Army Staff to the YORUBAS is that he is trying to avoid what happened to Aguiyi Ironsi by surrounding himself with the pple he trusts.
