[TRENDING VIDEO] Moment Apala legend Musiliu Haruna Ishola asks Ooni of Ife for car, monarch responds

Apala music legend Musiliu Haruna Ishola has received a new car from the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, during the 2026 Olojo Festival.

A video showing the veteran musician appealing to the monarch for a new vehicle has surfaced online, attracting reactions from social media users.

In the viral footage, Ishola is seen performing on stage in the presence of the Ooni during the annual cultural festival.

After his performance, the Apala legend publicly asked the monarch for another car, explaining that he had travelled to the festival in the jeep gifted to him by the Ooni six years ago.

He noted that the vehicle had become old and appealed to the traditional ruler to consider replacing it.

The Ooni responded positively to the request and offered to present the veteran musician with a new jeep, drawing excitement from Ishola and those at the event.

The Apala musician subsequently praised the Ooni for his leadership and generosity, noting that effective leadership is not determined by age.

Ishola also entertained the monarch with some of his classic songs, with the Ooni joining in and enjoying the performance.

The exchange has since generated reactions online, with many viewers commenting on the interaction between the veteran musician and the traditional ruler.

As the son of legendary Apala musician Haruna Ishola, Musiliu has helped revive and modernise the traditional Yoruba percussion-driven genre for a younger generation.
