Former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola has endorsed Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for the 2027 presidency, arguing that President Bola Tinubu and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar should step aside for younger leaders.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Oyinlola described Tinubu and Atiku as too old and unfit for the presidency. He backed Makinde, who is running on the Allied Peoples Movement ticket with Lawal Daura.
Makinde’s team unveiled its Reset Agenda manifesto in Abuja on November 4. The plan pledges action on the economy, security, education and the cost of living, drawing on Makinde’s experience governing Oyo State.
Oyinlola’s endorsement adds to the debate over leadership renewal ahead of the 2027 election.
