Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, has defended the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying the government’s achievements are evident to those willing to acknowledge them.

The First Lady made the remark while expressing confidence in the progress being recorded under the current administration.

“Things are happening in Nigeria, except for those who refuse to see. Maybe we will give them Tinubu eyeglasses,” she said.

Remi Tinubu also spoke about her plans after leaving the Presidential Villa, expressing her desire to return to everyday life when her husband’s tenure ends in 2031.

“I want to leave Aso Rock in 2031 and then walk the streets of Nigeria as a woman in her 70s,” she said.

Her statement reflects her intention to step away from the responsibilities associated with the presidency and reconnect with ordinary life after the administration concludes.

The First Lady’s remarks come amid continuing national conversations about the performance of the Tinubu administration, with Nigerians expressing differing views on the government’s economic policies, reforms and overall impact on citizens.

While supporters point to ongoing government initiatives as evidence of progress, critics have continued to raise concerns about the cost of living and the economic difficulties facing households across the country.

Remi Tinubu’s reference to “Tinubu eyeglasses” has also drawn attention as a pointed response to those who question the administration’s achievements.
