[TRENDING VIDEOS/PHOTOS] More woes for Aregbesola as APC members in Alimosho cut ties with minister, display mock RIP posters, coffins

This might not be the best of times for the immediate past governor of Osun State and incumbent Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.

Apart from the loss of his anointed candidate, Moshood Adeoti in the just concluded All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary in Osun State to incumbent Governor Gboyega Oyetola on Saturday, the former Osun Governor is also about to lose his base in Lagos.

Recall that prior to becoming a two term governor of Osun State from 2010 – 2018 and subsequently minister in 2019, Aregbesola served as Director General of the campaign team of his erstwhile godfather, Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 1999 and later the Commissioner for Works in Tinubu’s two-term (1999 – 2007) administration as governor of Lagos State.

Long before now, Aregbesola called the shots in Alimosho, one of the biggest and most politically active Local Governments in Nigeria. Even as governor in far away Osun State, Aregbesola still remained the rallying point in Alimosho politics.

Newsclickng.com gathered that his recent public outbursts against his erstwhile boss and other key personalities in the buildup to the party’s governorship primary in Osun seems not to go down well with his teeming followers in Alimosho.

Consequent upon this, Aregbesola’s years of political dominance in Alimosho appear to be under threats as some aggrieved residents took to the  streets on Sunday with mock obituary and coffin of the embattled minister signaling the end of his reign.
