The Governorship election tribunal in Jos, Plateau State, has rejected the petition filed by Alfred Dabwan of the NNPP against Caleb Mutfwang of the PDP. Additionally, the tribunal has imposed a cost of N1.5 million on the petitioner.
Dabwan challenged the validity of the March 18, 2023 election, in which Mutfwang was declared the winner, on the grounds that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) unlawfully excluded the NNPP logo from the ballot.
In a separate development, the National Assembly Election Tribunal on Monday nullified the election of Peter Gyendeng of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the Member representing the Barkin-Ladi/Riyom federal constituency and declared Fom Chollom of the Labour Party (LP) as the winner.
Fom Chollom challenged the validity of the election of Peter Gyendeng of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), arguing that Gyendeng was not validly nominated by the PDP because the party did not have a valid structure.
