On Friday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, presented another witness who provided additional evidence to the Presidential Election Petition Court.

The PDP and Atiku are contesting the declaration of Bola Tinubu as the elected president in the February 25 election.

The witness, Mike Enahoro-Ebah, presented Tinubu’s educational and personal information as part of the petition against the President.

Enahoro-Ebah, a lawyer and human rights activist, testified in court and submitted certified copies of the President’s academic qualifications, which were accepted as evidence by the court.

Additionally, Tinubu’s certificate of service from Mobile Oil Nigeria Plc and a copy of his Guinean Passport were admitted as exhibits. Among the evidence presented, the witness also submitted a transcript issued by South West College in 1977.

According to the witness, Mike Enahoro-Ebah, the transcript from South West College, issued in 1977, provided evidence that the individual named Tinubu, who attended Chicago State University, was identified as a female.

Enahoro-Ebah presented this transcript as part of the evidence in the case.

Enahoro-Ebah informed the court that his lawyer in the United States wrote to the schools Tinubu claimed to have attended to gather more information about him.

In April 2023, he received a “notarized” judgment related to criminal asset forfeiture proceedings involving Tinubu.

Despite objections from the respondents, including INEC, Tinubu, and the All Progressives Congress, the court accepted these documents as evidence.

During cross-examination, the witness reiterated that the President held dual citizenship. When asked if he inquired with the Guinean embassy about Tinubu renouncing his alleged citizenship, he replied that the former President of Guinea, Alpha Conde, acknowledged the issuance of the passport.

In the meantime, the PDP and Atiku have concluded their presentation of evidence in the Presidential Election Petition Court due to their allocated time coming to an end.

Their counsel, Chris Uche, officially closed their case. Throughout the proceedings, they called a total of 27 witnesses to support their petition.
