On Monday, the Kano State Government formally outlawed the operation of tricycle drivers, also known as “A Daidata Sahu” in Kano, after 10:00 p.m.

The ban will be in place starting on Thursday, July 21, 2022, according to a statement released and signed by the state commissioner for information, Muhammad Garba.

The decision was made at the conclusion of a state security meeting, the statement claims.

“The measure was part of efforts to ensure security of lives and property in the state,” it stated.

In order to do this, the statement warned tricycle operators that the prohibition will be vigorously enforced and asked them to comply and stop operating at the designated hour.

Tricycles have reportedly being used by hoodlums throughout the state to carry out their nefarious acts.
