Troops arrest Ambazonian rebels, seize stolen Pipelines

Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have apprehended four members of the Ambazonian rebel group from Cameroon in Taraba State.

The suspects were arrested on 18 December 2024 at a hotel in Takum Local Government Area following credible intelligence.

During initial interrogation, the suspects admitted to being part of the rebel group involved in arms trafficking, exchanging weapons for cocoa with Nigerian collaborators.

Four mobile phones were recovered, and the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.

Stolen Pipelines Intercepted
In a separate operation, troops in Natilde, Wukari Local Government Area, intercepted a truck carrying 19 stolen pipelines belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL).

Further collaboration with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Wukari led to the recovery of 11 additional pipes, bringing the total to 30.

The items have been handed over to the NSCDC for further investigation.
