Joint Taskforce, Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji, freed 15 kidnapped victims in Zamfara state during an early morning operation on Monday.
The troops responded to intelligence of an abduction of an unspecified number of innocent persons from Kayan Boggo village under Bukkuyum Local Government Area of the North-West state.
According to a high-ranking military official speaking to newsmen made known that the troops swiftly mobilized and set up a blockade at a potential escape route for the suspects.
According to reports, a firefight erupted, compelling the bandits to retreat, leaving behind the 15 victims, while an undisclosed number of them were apprehended.
The liberated captives were subsequently handed over to the local district leader of Gwashi for a joyful reunion with their families.
