Troops from the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) stationed in Sector 3 Monguno, along with intelligence operatives and the Civilian Joint Task Force, have intercepted a logistics supply network supporting Boko Haram/ISWAP at Cross Kauwa Market in Monguno, Borno State.

According to a statement from the Chief Military Information Officer at MNJTF Headquarters in N’Djamena, Chad, Lieutenant Colonel Olaniyi Osoba, the operation took place on Tuesday. The syndicate, comprising Modu Gana, Mamman Saleh, and Babagana Muktar, was apprehended while en route to deliver supplies to the terrorists in their hideouts.

The suspects, who admitted to being key logistics providers for the terrorist group, were found with a cache of items intended for the militants. The seized items included a techno phone, six goats, a carton of Maggi, charms, bags of guinea corn and millet, ground corn, metal bowls, a calculator, a wristwatch, perfume, prayer beads, 36 empty sack bags, and other supplies critical to sustaining the terrorists’ activities.

The arrested members of the syndicate are currently undergoing intensive interrogation to gather further intelligence, which could lead to additional arrests and the dismantling of the terrorist logistics network in the Lake Chad region.

“The MNJTF Troops’ swift action and collaboration with intelligence operatives have once again demonstrated their commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety and security of the region,” the statement added.
