Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have killed 12 suspected Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters during operations in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State.
Mafa, located about 60 kilometres from Maiduguri, has long been a hotspot of insurgent activity.
The operation was guided by real-time intelligence from the Air Component Command’s Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms, which directed precision strikes and troop manoeuvres.
In coordinated raids, soldiers cleared terrorist hideouts in Tamsu Ngamdu, Dalakaleri and Gaza—areas notorious for insurgent strongholds.
The troops recovered eight AK-47 rifles, eight fully loaded magazines of 7.62mm ammunition, along with caches of drugs and medical supplies used by the terrorists.
Military authorities commended the troops for their resilience and renewed determination, urging the Theatre Command to sustain pressure against the insurgents.
