Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), which keeps the peace in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna states, killed four suspected bandits and arrested 17 others for various crimes in areas under their control.
In a statement released in Jos on Tuesday, Captain James Oya, the Media Officer for the operation, revealed that a group of suspects had been apprehended.
Oya elaborated that the individuals in custody had been arrested on charges related to kidnapping, murder, violent assaults on communities, and the illegal distribution of drugs, among other offenses.
He clarified that these arrests took place during a specialized operation conducted by the troops between October 29 and November 5.
”We rescued four kidnapped victims, prevented six attempts to attack vulnerable communities, and responded to 13 distress calls within the period under review,” he said.
Oya conveyed that Major General Abdusalam Abubakar expressed gratitude to the residents of Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna states for their unwavering support of the military and other security organizations in their collective efforts to enhance security within the regions of operation.
