Troops kill terrorists, recover arms, rustled cattle in Borno, Katsina

Troops of the Nigerian Army, engaged in counter-terrorism operations in the North East alongside Hybrid Forces, neutralized a terrorist on Wednesday. They also recovered arms, ammunition, and rustled cattle during a clearance operation in identified Boko Haram/Islamic State of West Africa Province enclaves within the Gori general area in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.

During a fierce firefight, the troops effectively subdued and neutralized one terrorist, rescued numerous rustled cattle, and seized arms and ammunition from the terrorists. The recovered weaponry comprised 2 AK-47 rifles, 38 rounds of 7.62 mm special ammunition, AK-47 magazines, one Improvised Explosive Device, and one motorcycle.

Additionally, in another operation in Katsina State, troops engaged in an offensive against terrorist camps neutralized 2 terrorists in the Garin Rinji general area of Batsari Local Government Area after a gun battle.

The brave troops overwhelmed the insurgents with superior firepower, dismantled several hideouts, and recovered 2 motorcycles and 25 rustled livestock during the operation.

Military authorities have stated that the troops are continuing offensive operations to eliminate terrorists in the general area.
