Troops nab four Terror suspects, seize weapons in Taraba

Troops of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have apprehended four suspected terrorists and recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in the Tau general area of Ardo-Kola Local Government Area, Taraba State.

The operation followed a distress call reporting the movement of armed men into the area. Troops responded swiftly, deploying tactically to the location, which resulted in the successful arrest of the four suspects. Three of them were found in possession of firearms.

A press statement issued by Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, noted that items recovered from the suspects included: two pump-action rifles, one locally made firearm, three cutlasses, 42 cartridges, four mobile phones, and one national identity card.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects were allegedly invited by one Alhaji Ardo Sani, whose involvement is presently under further investigation.

Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, Commander of 6 Brigade/Sector 3 OPWS, praised the troops for their rapid response and professionalism during the operation. He reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across Taraba State and its surrounding areas.
