Troops neutralise 65 terrorists kngpins, 1,937 others – DHQ

The Defence Headquarters reports that in the third quarter of this year, Armed Forces personnel and other security agencies have neutralized a total of 1,937 terrorists, arrested 2,782 suspects, and rescued 1,854 hostages. Additionally, 65 terrorist commanders were eliminated during operations.

At a news conference in Abuja on Thursday, Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, stated that these offensive actions resulted in the neutralization of several key terrorist leaders, including Munzir Arika, Sani Dilla (Dan Hausawan Jubillaram), Ameer Modu, Matawal Bitrus, Thomas Benedict, Mohammed Sani, Rimamy (aka Omo), Terkimbi Injoko, Jacob Uzege, and Ibn Kasir.

Other individuals eliminated include Kachalla Dan Baleri, Kachallah Halilu (Buzu), Kachalla Dan Ali Garin Fadama, Kachalla Basiru Zakarriya, and Ofem Emmanuel Igwe.

He also disclosed that troops recovered 1,304 weapons and 43,347 rounds of ammunition while denying oil thieves an estimated total of over N13 billion (N13,081,605,534.00).

General Buba emphasized that with ongoing support from state governments, the military will continue to intensify its efforts against terrorists and violent extremists until they are fully eradicated.
