Troops from the 114 Battalion of the 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army, successfully rescued three individuals who had been abducted by bandits in Jalingo, the capital of Taraba State.
The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, as stated in a release by Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, the 6 Brigade Commander.
Acting on actionable intelligence regarding the movement of bandits with their captives from Ardo-Kola to Yorro, the troops deployed to Apawa village in Yorro Local Government Area trailed the armed group.
According to the statement, the troops demonstrated exceptional skills and determination, engaging the criminals with their superior firepower. This compelled the bandits to flee, leaving behind three of their captives.
The rescued individuals have since been reunited with their families. The troops are now actively pursuing the kidnappers, seeking their hideouts to liberate more victims.
