A collision involving multiple vehicles occurred along the Berger-Kara section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday.

Reports indicate that the incident took place during the early hours of Thursday and involved a luxury bus, a truck, and a small car.

According to a witness interviewed by Channels Television, the collision involved a truck, a suspected transport company bus, and a truck carrying a container.

While it remains uncertain if there were any fatalities, the accident resulted in significant traffic congestion as the vehicles involved blocked the roadway.

Furthermore, commuters traveling from Berger towards Mowe-Ibafo found themselves stranded in the traffic jam for several hours.

Ayo Makinde, the host of Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program, shared his experience of being stuck in the traffic. He mentioned that what usually is a 15-minute journey took him nearly two hours on that particular day.

“I was in traffic for about two hours before getting into the office this morning,” he said. “A trip that will take me something about 15 minutes took me more than an hour and I am wondering how far back the traffic is now.

“Unfortunately, there was a horrible accident. This was taken much earlier in the day (displaying videos from the scene) and the traffic I ran into, just before Berger Bus-stop. It must have involved three different vehicles.”

According to some reports, three individuals sustained injuries in the accident and have been transported to the hospital for medical care.

Emergency responders promptly arrived at the scene to manage the situation.

Authorities from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and police personnel were also present at the site.
