The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed that two senior aides to the embattled Sole Administrator of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Goodluck Iheanachor, who were previously declared wanted in connection with his alleged assault, have voluntarily surrendered to authorities.
In a statement signed by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, it was revealed that Hector Ekakita, the Chief Security Officer of the LGA, and Aloni Olodi, the Chief of Staff, reported to the Police Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, around 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2025.
The duo had been declared wanted on July 6 over allegations of criminal conspiracy, assault causing harm, and theft, linked to a violent incident on June 20 at the Ahoada East Council Secretariat, where the Local Government Administrator was reportedly assaulted by a group of about 30 individuals.
According to the statement, both suspects were received and interviewed by the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, and his management team. They were subsequently transferred to the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for further questioning.
The Police Command urged the public to provide any relevant information that could aid the ongoing investigation and assured that the process would be thorough, transparent, and conducted in line with due process.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring all those involved are held accountable in accordance with the law.
