The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Florence Obi, has appointed Dr. Rose Ugbe as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law.
The Registrar of the University, Mr. Gabriel Egbe, announced that Dr. Rose Ugbe would replace Prof. Cyril Ndifon as the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Law. Prof. Ndifon was suspended on August 17 following allegations of highhandedness.
Prof. Ndifon is accused of improper behavior towards female students, as well as other irregularities.
A seven-member panel has been set up to investigate the allegations against Prof. Ndifon.
Dr. Ugbe’s appointment as Acting Dean took effect on Tuesday, August 22, and will remain in effect until a permanent Dean is elected
Dr. Ugbe will be responsible for overseeing the faculty’s academic programs, fostering a healthy relationship between staff and students, and creating a positive environment for teaching and learning.
She will also support faculty members in their research activities and collaborate with the University administration to implement and actualize the institution’s vision.
