UNILAG alumni association elects new national excos

The University of Lagos Alumni Association has elected a new National Executive Committee that will steer the leadership of the association for the next two years.

Ifeoluwa Oyedele was elected the association’s president through an electronic voting system on Sunday, December 18, 2022, during the association’s annual general meeting held at the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

According to a press release, Oyedele assured members that the new National Executive Committee, under his leadership, would maintain the same good standards set by their predecessors.

He said, “As I receive the mantle of leadership of UNILAG Alumni worldwide, the vision of its founders will challenge me to work together with my fellow alumni and to strictly adhere to its motto, ‘In Deed and in Truth.”

“I pledged that the new administration shall continue in the tradition of transparency and accountability laid by our predecessors.

“We will remain your servant by serving with loyalty, dedication and humility to the highest level of integrity. We will defend the Constitution, Ethos and Ethics of the association. By so doing, we will build an enduring legacy, with the help and collaboration of all critical stakeholders.

“In this regard, we will strive to continue with the execution of all projects conceived by the previous administration.”

Others elected for several other roles include; Bala Yesufu, 1st National Vice President; Azuka Azinge, 2nd National Vice President; Adebisi Ogundipe, National Secretary; and Otobong Matthew, Assistant National Secretary.

Mrs. Funmi Falobi, was elected National Publicity Secretary; Francis Shonubi, National Social Secretary; Soni Oghenegare Bobi, National Legal Adviser; Rasul Taiwo, National Financial Secretary; Harris Alade, Treasurer; and Owoeye Abayomi, National Internal Auditor.

In his valedictory speech, John Momoh admonished members to hold fast those values that would never go out of fashion – integrity, character, foresight, competence and dedication.

Momoh charged the new national executive to lift the bar beyond wildest dreams.
