A lecturer at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, has been accused of sexually abusing a 20-year-old female student of the institution.

According to sources, the 300-level student (name withheld) reported the incident to the police on August 28, 2025, claiming that the professor had forcibly had sexual knowledge of her and asked her into his office on August 22, 2025, at around 12:00 p.m.

Later, she was sent to a neighboring hospital to receive medical care. The administration of the university attested to their knowledge of the sexual misconduct claim.

It stated that the student was receiving support from the University’s Safeguarding Center and that the situation had been reported to the relevant police authorities.

The Head of the Communication Unit at UNILAG, Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, disclosed that the institution had also set up a panel to investigate the allegation. She assured that findings would be communicated through appropriate channels upon completion.

“The public is hereby assured that the University will conduct a thorough investigation, and ensure justice for all involved,” she said.

“Students and other members of the university community are encouraged to report any form of harassment or misconduct through designated offices,” Alaga-Ibraheem added.
