A US federal judge has overturned deep funding cuts imposed on Harvard University by the Trump administration over allegations of anti-Semitism and bias.

Boston judge Allison Burroughs ruled on Wednesday that the measures violated the First Amendment.

“The Court vacates and sets aside the Freeze Orders and Termination Letters as violative of the First Amendment,” the judge stated.

She added that all freezes and terminations of Harvard’s funding made since April 14, 2025 were nullified.
