The U.S. Department of State’s Rewards for Justice (RFJ) Program, administered by the Diplomatic Security Service, is offering a reward of up to $5 million for information that can lead to the identification or location of Abukar Ali Adan, a key leader of Al-Shabaab (AS).

This information was included in a statement released to journalists yesterday at the Foreign Press Centre (FPC) in Washington, D.C., by Matthew Miller, the Spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State.

Miller made known that all of Abukar Ali Adan’s property and interests in property subject to U.S. jurisdiction are blocked, and U.S. persons are generally prohibited from engaging in any transactions with him.

Miller further stated that additional details regarding the reward offer can be found on the Rewards for Justice website, accessible at www.rewardsforjustice.net.

“We encourage anyone with information on Abukar Ali Adan to contact Rewards for Justice via Signal, Telegram, or WhatsApp at +1-202-702-7843, or via local tip lines at +254 71 87 12 366 in Kenya and +252 68 43 43 308 in Somalia.”

“All information will be kept strictly confidential. Relocation for individuals submitting information that leads to the identification or location of Abukar Ali Adan may be possible,” he further said.

The U.S. Department revealed that since its establishment in 1984, the program has disbursed over $250 million to over 125 individuals worldwide who supplied actionable information that contributed to resolving threats to U.S. national security.
