Fresh controversy has emerged over the identity documents of Wunmi Aloba, widow of late singer Mohbad, after activist VeryDarkMan questioned discrepancies he claimed to have found in her NIN and international passport details.
Speaking in a video, VeryDarkMan said Wunmi’s international passport, which he claimed was renewed in 2024, carries the name “Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi” and is reportedly valid until 2034.
The activist wondered why the NIN information presented to him allegedly showed a different name, “Aloba Cynthia Omowumi,” instead.
“The name on the international passport and the information on your international passport must tally with the information on your NIN. So how come on your NIN, it is showing Aloba Cynthia Omowumi? But on your international passport, it is saying Adebanjo Cynthia Omowumi? Something is wrong,” he said.
He said the issue was taken to NIN authorities for clarification, claiming that officials identified the record with the name “Cynthia Omowumi Adebanjo.”
The development led VeryDarkMan to make a serious allegation that a separate NIN document may have been created to strengthen Wunmi’s claim over Mohbad’s estate.
“Therefore, in order for Wumi to claim Mohbad’s wealth, Wumi secretly went to go and forge a document. This is a very big crime. This girl went to go and forge an NIN,” he alleged.
He also brought up the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, questioning whether the identity dispute could be connected to why some information about the singer’s death was allegedly not made available.
“Could it be that this is the reason why Adura refused to give the credible information as to what led to the death of her brother? Could it be that this is why Wumi refused to speak in the earlier stage?” he asked.
