Veteran Juju musician Sunday Adegeye, popularly known as King Sunny Ade, has released a video refuting claims that he is missing.

The rumors surfaced after his daughter, Damilola Adeniyi, raised concerns about his whereabouts and well-being, suggesting he might have been kidnapped. In a series of Instagram posts, Damilola alleged undue influence, hinting that the musician’s manager could be involved in his disappearance.

However, in a video shared on social media, the 78-year-old artist clarified the situation, explaining that his children mistakenly thought he was kidnapped because they hadn’t seen him while he was on holiday.

“My children wanted to see me, they thought I was kidnapped after I went away for a few days to rest. But I thank God, I was not kidnapped and I didn’t kidnap myself,” King Sunny Ade said, expressing gratitude to his fans for their concern.

Earlier, the musician’s manager and son, Dayo Adegeye, had also debunked the kidnapping rumors, assuring the public that King Sunny Ade “is safe and sound.”

“There is no truth to the kidnapping rumor, and we are taking appropriate steps to address the situation and identify those responsible for spreading this false information,” he stated.

Dayo further reassured fans that the Adegeye family and King Sunny Ade’s team are working to resolve the matter and safeguard the musician’s reputation.

“The public can rest assured that King Sunny Ade is in good health and spirits, and his focus remains on his music and legacy,” he added.
