The widow of Chris Jemitola, Safiya Mamman-Jemitola, a former aide-de-camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, has raised the alarm over what she described as the invasion of her matrimonial home by police officers and suspected hoodlums, allegedly under the pretext of serving court documents.
Mamman-Jemitola claimed the operatives were brought to her Abuja residence by Caleb Jemitola, the son of her late husband.
In a series of posts shared on X on Monday evening, she alleged that the men failed to properly identify themselves, even though they claimed to be accompanied by a court bailiff to serve legal processes.
According to the widow, the group, alongside police officers, forcefully gained entry into the property by breaking security doors.
“Men from the Nigeria Police Force (FID, JPU) broke into my matrimonial home under the guise of trying to serve me a court process,” she wrote.
“They broke down my gate, front door and other security doors leading to my matrimonial home.
“They claim they came with a court bailiff. All these men came without identifying themselves.
“To the Nigeria Police @PoliceNG , how many of your men are required to serve a widow who has not had a moment’s rest to grief? This is the fourth time policemen are being used to harass and intimidate me.
“My life has been under threat by Mr. Caleb Jemitola and his accomplices, as well as men from the Nigeria Police.”
Mamman-Jemitola also shared video clips showing the men, accompanied by police officers, forcefully breaking into the residence.
Chris Jemitola died in February after reportedly collapsing at the IBB Golf Club in Asokoro, Abuja, and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The retired major general served as ADC to Obasanjo between 2003 and 2007 while holding the rank of colonel. He also previously served as the Nigerian Army’s director of public relations.
