Charity Aiguobarueghian, the Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, claims Philip Shaibu was impeached for leaking information about the state’s security and finances.

Shaibu was impeached on Monday, after a months-long feud with his former principal, Governor Godwin Obaseki.

However, Aiguobarueghian, who represents the Ovia North East I district in the Edo State Assembly, stated that Shaibu’s dismissal was consistent with the country’s laws.

The lawmaker was a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast show The Morning Brief on Tuesday, hours after the impeachment.
