Israel’s military announced on Monday that it carried out airstrikes on several targets in central , including internal security command centres and missile launch installations.

According to the military, the operation marked the first such attack since the Islamic Republic appointed a new supreme leader.

“The Israeli Air Force… completed an additional wave of strikes on infrastructure across Iran belonging to the Iranian regime,” a military statement said.

The military said the strikes targeted key facilities, including “a rocket engine production facility and several long-range ballistic missiles launch sites” that were considered a threat to Israel.

Among the locations reportedly hit were the internal security headquarters in the central city of , a police headquarters, and other facilities used by the and the paramilitary force.

“The Internal Security and Basij forces… constitute a central arm in the repression of the Iranian civilian population and are responsible for the use of brutal and systematic violence against it,” the statement said.

The military added that the strikes were part of a broader effort aimed at “deepening the damage to the core arrays and foundations of the Iranian regime”.

The latest operation is the first strike publicly confirmed by Israel since was named supreme leader of Iran late on Sunday.
