The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that his administration will persist with the demolition of shanties in the FCT, stating that no amount of protest will deter them.
He made this remark during a visit to the Ruga community along the Wuye axis of the nation’s capital.
Wike explained that moving forward, his administration intends to engage in dialogue with the residents of shanties across the city and develop long-term recommendations to prevent the establishment of illegal settlements.
He also dismissed the protest held on Friday, labelling the FCTA as “land grabbers,” as a case of misplaced priorities.
