Dino Melaye, a former chairman of the Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, has expressed dissatisfaction with the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) transmission and collation of electoral results.

Melaye, a Peoples Democratic Party agent, caused a commotion on Monday at the National Collation Centre in Abuja when he rejected the presidential election result for Ekiti State, citing over-voting.

He raised an observation that the figures of the results announced by INEC were conflicting.

Speaking to newsmen, Melaye said that they won’t allow irregularities play out in the announcement of the result of the election.

He accused the national chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu of putting his integrity on the line, promising him that he will make sure only the right result is announced.

He said, “We have to see the uploaded result, and we insist the chairman should show us the uploaded result,. That is the way we can authorize the authenticity. The national Chairman of INEC is not giving us opportunity to question what has been done. We are not here to rubberstamp, We’ll not allow, having suffered [pains, we will make sure the right thing is done. chairman has put is integrity in question. We’ll make sure only the right result is announced here.”
