The leader of the Conservative Party in the United Kingdom, Kemi Badenoch, has expressed her own views on religion and spirituality.
Badenoch recently disclosed on a podcast that she no longer considers herself a believer in God.
Badenoch emphasises that she does not identify as an atheist and defines herself as an agnostic.
She recognises that her cultural heritage and upbringing have ingrained Christian beliefs in her; thus, this distinction is significant to her.
Badenoch describes herself as a “cultural Christian,” emphasising that she recognises the cultural importance of Christianity even though she may not subscribe to orthodox Christian doctrine.
She claims that this viewpoint enables her to be open about her personal convictions while still staying connected to her heritage.
The way a person chooses to conduct their life is more important than whether or not they believe in God, according to Badenoch.
Badenoch said, “I don’t believe in God anymore. But I am not an atheist, I am agnostic. I used to believe in God very much but now I describe myself as a cultural Christian.
“I don’t think it matters if people believe in God or not. What matters is what they do with the belief or the lack of it.”
