Why I won’t challenge Kogi election results at Tribunal – Dino Melaye

The Kogi State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, has announced that he will not challenge the electoral success of the All Progressives Congress in the November 11 polls, citing a loss of confidence in the judiciary.

On Wednesday, November 29, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured a distant third position in the election, raised accusations, claiming that the court has transformed into an APC-affiliated entity rather than maintaining its autonomy.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the APC candidate, Usman Ododo, as the winner of the November 11 governorship election in the state.

Dino said: “Judiciary is no longer the last hope of the ordinary people, it is now a department under the All Progressives Congress. Why should any responsible person go to the tribunal when the APC has captured the judiciary? I have lost complete confidence in the judiciary.”
