More facts are emerging in the political crisis rocking Rivers State, with Edison Ehie, the Chief of Staff to Governor Siminalayi Fubara, giving more insight on the reason behind the frosty relationship between his principal and the former Governor, Nyesom Wike.

Ehie disclosed that the discord in Rivers State stemmed from a handful of political figures vying for exclusive control over the state’s resources.

Speaking on Saturday during a thanksgiving service commemorating the governor’s Supreme Court victory in Ahoada East Local Government Area, Ehie cautioned that the governor possesses the capability to impart a political lesson to his adversaries.

“The problem we have in the state is that 11 persons said they will control the resources of Rivers State. These 11 persons now called 20 others to allocate resources to themselves,” he said.

The Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State reverberated with joy on Saturday as individuals from diverse backgrounds congregated to commemorate Fubara’s triumph at the Supreme Court, four months after the event.

The thanksgiving event, hosted at Western County High School Ahoada, commenced with a choir rendition followed by a sermon, during which the preacher encouraged Governor Fubara to maintain his commitment to serving humanity.

Following the church service, the ambiance transitioned to politics, with community leaders, women, youth groups, and supporters from the 13 political wards dancing in solidarity with Governor Fubara.

State legislators aligned with Governor Fubara, led by their newly elected Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo, affirmed their dedication to his success.

Edison Ehie, Governor Fubara’s Chief of Staff, addressing the gathering on behalf of the governor, alluded to the political friction between Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike. He cautioned that despite Fubara’s youthfulness, he possesses the ability to impart a political lesson to his adversaries.

“We are going to teach them a lesson of political arithmetrics. What that small boy will do to you you’ll know that khaki no be leather (sic),” Ehie stated.

The highlight of the celebration was the presentation of N200,000 each to 65 small scale business owners, as well as N500,000 to each of the 13 cordinators of the Simplified Movement by the Chief of Staff.
