As residents of the Federal Capital Territory turned out to elect representatives at area council level, the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, moved around the territory to monitor compliance with electoral guidelines.
Wike first visited polling units on Lagos Street in Garki 2, where he assessed the conduct of the exercise.
While inspecting the area, he observed that some traders had opened their shops for business. He immediately instructed them to shut down and adhere strictly to electoral regulations.
He urged the traders to act responsibly by participating in the voting process and fulfilling their civic duty.
The minister also visited the Karu Chief’s Palace and other locations as part of his oversight of the ongoing elections across the territory.
