Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world, complimented Tobi Amusan, a renowned athlete from Nigeria, on her success at the current World Athletic competition.
Reports stated that Amusan raced to victory in the women’s 100m hurdles in Oregon on Sunday in 12.06 seconds to become the first Nigerian athlete to win a gold medal at the World Athletics Championship.
Amusan had previously achieved a time faster than the previous record, 12.12 seconds, in the semi-finals.
Bolt praised the winner while quoting a tweet from the World Athletics official page that verified Tobi’s victory in the semifinals.
He tweeted “Congrats” along with emoticons of the Nigerian flag and applause.
The Jamaican athlete also posted “Superb #Tobi” following her performance in the finals.
