You took over ADC leadership undemocratically, hoped all is well — Bwala to David Mark-led leadership
Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has criticised the David Mark-led leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), accusing the executive of taking control of the party without following due process.
Bwala made the allegations in a post on his X account on Thursday, amid the ongoing controversy over the opposition party’s leadership.
He said any political party seeking to govern Nigeria must uphold due process, equity and justice, alleging that the Mark-led executive had disregarded these principles in its emergence.
“A political party that wants to govern Nigeria must be a party of due process, equity and justice.
“You descended on ADC like a thief in the night, took over its leadership undemocratically and hoped that all is well,” he wrote.
Bwala also accused the leadership of violating the party’s constitution and guidelines, as well as the Nigerian Constitution, the Electoral Act and the guidelines of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He said the alleged breaches demonstrated a disregard for Nigerians, accusing the party leaders of assuming that the public could be misled about the circumstances surrounding their emergence.
The presidential aide also criticised individuals lobbying in support of the party’s leadership, suggesting that they expected financial rewards for their efforts.
His comments came amid the ongoing dispute over the ADC leadership and a court ruling affecting the Mark-led executive committee.
